I don’t know if I’ve ever met someone so fun, enthusiastic, and optimistic about health, thinking, and the future of humanity than today’s guest, Naveen Jain. I’ve met some people who think outside of the box, but this guy doesn’t even have a box.

Naveen is known for evangelizing huge (and even seemingly impossible) ideas – AKA Moonshots – and, today, we explore the future of healthcare and the health and wellness industry.

Because the fact of the matter is that our current healthcare system, as an institution, is broken: everyone in the system profits off of the sick and no one makes money when people are healthy. And, like so many other industries, the healthcare industry is looking to optimize monetization even further by leveraging the subscription model to “treat” the increasing number of people suffering from chronic disease.

What other industry is fundamentally incentivized to not keep the customer happy? It’s mind-boggling. So what will it take to catalyze positive change? And what does a world with abundant healthcare look like?

If it feels like we’re talking about the impossible, that’s only because you’re used to seeing the world as it is – and, today, I invite you to join us in seeing the world as it can be.

Topics Discussed In This Episode:

  • Life is curiosity
  • The less you know, the more you think you know – and the more you know, the more you realize how little you truly know
  • Becoming the CEO of your own health
  • Life-changing technologies that might be closer to reality than you think
  • The human brain can be fooled very easily – and we can use this to our advantage
  • If you want to move society forward, you have to focus on what the world can be and not what the world is
  • The myth of scarcity
  • Solving seemingly impossible problems just requires asking the right questions
  • You can kill a person, but you can’t kill an idea, you can’t kill a movement
  • Why we are, at best, 1% human – and even that 1% is controlled by our microbiome
  • No one food is “bad,” it’s just better for some people’s microbiome than others’
  • Why Naveen is constantly trying to reduce the cost of his most transformative products
  • Doing good and doing well are not mutually exclusive
  • Making money is like having an orgasm: if you’re focused on it, you’re never going to get it, so you just have to enjoy the process
