A wellbeing expert, Jasmine Hemsley has inspired a global audience to shift their perspectives on food and lifestyle to find their individual ultimate mind-body balance. As a founder of Hemsley + Hemsley (http://www.hemsleyandhemsley.com/) and her new venture, East by West, Jasmine’s passion for home-cooked food and natural remedies has captured the attention of a vast global audience. Her fun, down-to-earth approach to health as a multi-bestselling author, wellbeing influencer, and TV presenter encourages people to return to a simpler, healthier and more mindful way of life.

Jasmine's latest concept, East by West (http://www.eastbywestlondon.com/), came to life as a pop-up café in the heart of London’s Mayfair. Inspired by Jasmine’s travels in India and Sri Lanka, East by West realises her interpretation of Ayurveda-inspired cuisine and wisdom. The huge success of the pop-up led to the East by West cookbook (http://www.jasminehemsley.com/read/), launched in November 2017, which delves further into Jasmine's passion for holistic Eastern foods and therapies, fused with the best principles of modern Western wellness.

As a natural extension of her passion for food and wellbeing, and after training as a sound therapist, Jasmine launched a new project in 2017, harnessing the therapeutic frequencies of sound: Sound Sebastien (http://www.soundsebastien.com/). Designed to create a blissful and balancing escape from the daily rush, Sound Sebastien hosts immersive, uplifting and nourishing sound baths, using the harmonics of gemstones and crystal alchemy. Sound Sebastien has hosted events for Soho House, H&M and L’Oreal and has been featured in the likes of The Daily Telegraph, ES Magazine, Metro and YOU.

We all go on our own journeys with food.

I’ve gone through quite a few phases in my journey – from hardcore vegetarian to hardcore raw protein to, now, something more balanced and less inflammatory.

Now I don’t care what you eat – you can eat a sofa if you want – but a lot of people mindlessly eat more than their fair share, a lot of the time. That doesn’t help you, and it doesn’t help the world.

The key to finding the optimal diet for your body is appreciating your food, and being more conscious about when it serves you and when it doesn’t.

Of course, we live in a fast-paced world. Finding and preparing the best food doesn't always feel easy – and that’s where today’s guest, Jasmine Hemsley, comes in.

Jasmine is a wellbeing expert and creator of the East by West, a modern take on Ayurvedic principles & recipes for today’s busy world. Beginning with a pop up cafe in London, East by West is now a cookbook containing 140 delicious (and simple) recipes that focus on using the ancient Ayurvedic philosophy of eating to nourish, sustain, and repair.

The Vedic lifestyle isn’t about strict rules or regulations, and it’s really a lot less stressful than most diets – it’s simply a philosophy for living well that emphasizes bringing balance into your lifestyle.

Ready for the ultimate mind-body balance?
